Rachel Ritter Snow, LM, CM

Licensed Midwife located in Albany, NY

About Rachel Ritter, LM CM

I have been very fortunate to witness midwifery in action in a variety of settings – at home, in a small community hospital, and now at St. Peter’s.

Across all of these very different places, midwives bring empowerment, knowledge, peace, and excellent shared decision-making to their clients. Midwives support people during some of the most joyful and most challenging times in their lives (sometimes both at once!). It is important to me to work with those coming for care to answer their questions and help them make their own decisions about their health, their bodies, and their families. Family planning, care for LGBTQIA+ people, breastfeeding, and physiologic birth are particular areas of interest for me.

Personal Interests:
In my spare time, I sing in a choir, read, play board and video games, and knit.

Education:
MS in Midwifery, SUNY Downstate Medical Center
BA in Women’s Studies and English, Vassar College

License:
NY Licensed Midwife, Federal DEA

Certifications:
AMCB Certified Midwife (National)
Basic Life Support
Neonatal Resuscitation Program
AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring

Professional Memberships/Affiliations:
NYSALM, ACNM
