About Val Keville, LM CNM

Deeply rooted in the Capital Region, I have spent my entire life in the Albany area, and now I am raising my own family here.  I have been a Labor and Delivery Nurse for 13+ years working in area hospitals.  This is where I was first exposed to the Midwifery modality of care and was instantly drawn to supporting women throughout all aspects of health care.  After having my own children, it was clearly evident to me that woman not only require more support but,  need to have an active role in shared decision making regarding their care and birth experiences.  Becoming a Midwife allows me to take a leadership role in the birthing process along with developing long-lasting bonds with women and their families.  Creating space where women can be supported and heard leads to improved patient outcomes, satisfaction and an opportunity to develop long lasting relationships.

As a Midwife, I enjoy providing an environment in which women feel supported, educated, and confident to play an active role in their healthcare.  My passion and commitment is to provide safe, high quality, non-judgmental healthcare to women across the lifespan.  Empowering women to make informed choices regarding their healthcare and birthing experiences is of particular interest to me.  Other special areas of interest of mine include physiological labor, VBAC, Adolescent GYN care, Sexual Health, Postpartum Depression, and Infertility. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and taking a day adventure any chance I get.
