Licensed Midwife located in Albany, NY

About Sarah Prior, LM CNM

Ecstatic to be joining this dynamic team, I am thrilled at the opportunity to continue building relationships I have already established and look forward to meeting and serving many other women here at Albany Obstetrics and Gynecology.

As a young nurse, my entire career existed around my passion for labor and birth. I have spent years encouraging and assisting women to explore birthing options as means to gain empowerment in the decision-making process of their birth. I have always carried a strong desire to support and educate women during these monumental moments of their life in an environment where they feel they have a voice, they are respected, and are safe. I also found passion in teaching nurses and other healthcare providers skills and techniques for best practice in fetal heart rate monitoring, and became an AWHONN Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Instructor. I now teach these skills several times a year at St. Peter’s Hospital.
As a Midwife, a mother, a wife and now with a little more life experience beneath me, my passions have expanded to include perimenopause/menopausal care, pelvic health, contraceptive options, prenatal health and wellness, and lactation. My goals are to integrate the same amount of passion and evidenced-based practice into all aspects of a woman’s life to provide full scope gynecologic as well as obstetric care.
A lifelong resident of Columbia County, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and large German Shepherd. I love to cook (and eat!), garden, and travel.
